HUMAN EYES

Human eyes are unique and have an extra ordinary attraction. Every individual have a different pattern of their eyes. The color, texture and design are of different kind depending on individual's genes and family background.

Reflection from the eye is also an important key point to be kept in mind during the shoot. A good reflection produced by an eye can give a different texture to over all image.

For a closeup shot of an eye a macro lens is preferred or extensions can also be used. Techniques to take macro photographs have been discussed in previous post.

Following photographs were taken by using macro extension tubes.

One can also capture an image without getting closer to the subject. But the main focus should be on eyes.

Also a monochrome effect can be given for a different look.

BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY

"Bird photography" is a sub-class or sub category of "Nature Photography". Bird photography is an attractive category but it is not so easy. Because the subject is constantly moving specially in the case of small and unique birds including Hummingbirds, sparrow etc. Whereas other subjects can be easily captured including Eagles, Falcons, Pigeon etc.

The word "Bird" itself includes a vast range of species in it. Not to forget Duck, Ostrich, Penguin and Kiwis are also birds. The pictures given below are for "Pigeons"

High shutter is used for constantly moving birds so that every movement can be captured and a fine result can be produced. But sometimes you might want to click the picture when your subject is at rest. Examples are:

When the subject is moving use high shutter to capture the details of the movement.

Macro Photography

Macro Photography is also know as Macrography or Photomacrography. The word "Macro" means large/ of a great size. But in the area of photography Macro Photography has a different meaning. It is used for the Photography of very small objects, that cannot be seen in details via human eye. The word "Macro" is used because, when photograph of such an small object is taken. The final results are different from that of the original size of the object.

The image that has been captured is of high details, almost every part of the subject is visible and clear. In other words it can be said that, Macro Photography is a technique that can be used to maximize the size of a tiny little object, to make it visible for human eye.

HOW TO TAKE MACRO PHOTOGRAPHS:

Taking Macro Photographs/ photographs of a small subject is easy but it requires lot of patience. Certain equipment are used for this purpose, some of the equipment are:

1- Macro Extension tubes

2- Close-up Filters

3- Macro Lens

4- Reverse Lens Technique

From all the above given techniques and equipment. The cheapest one is Reverse lens technique and on second is Macro extension tubes and Close-up filters.

The reverse lens technique might expose the internal part of the lens to the outer dust which can be transferred to the camera being used. Extension tubes and Close-up filters are the cheapest as well as safest source to take a good quality Macro Photographs.

BOKEH PHOTOGRAPHY

Bokeh is originally a Japanese word "BOKE" which means out of focus, blur or haze out. Something which is not in focus is termed as Bokeh. In photography the word Bokeh reflects that, when an image is captured it should have a blur/out of focus background as compared to the foreground or main subject.

For Bokeh photography lights provide the best source, as they have different colors and can be adjusted accordingly. Following given are some example of the Bokeh Photographs.

The setup is very easy all you need is:

1- Camera
2- Tripod/ Hand handling
3- Lights
4- Torch/ Cell phone flash light.

Put lights at a distance from the main object. Turn off all the other lights if possible. Drop flash light on the main subject to make it more prominent than the background. If hands are shaking use of tripod is recommended.

LIGHT PAINTING PHOTOGRAPHY

The light painting photography is a very creative technique. Following given are some samples of the "Light painting photography". By using this technique, one can create a unique design.

Things required to take the following picture:

1- Camera with long exposure.
2- Tripod stand
3- Burning stick
4- Water bucket for safety measures.

Simply put camera on the tripod and make sure that it is on manual focus mode along with the self timer (if working alone). Burn the stick and stand in front of the camera. Once you hear sound of the camera, start creating any image that you have in your mind and when shutter drops, put the Burning stick at safe place and view the result in the camera screen.
